Share Your Story

Stories offer context that language alone cannot. Across adoption, lived experiences are shaped by role, relationship, timing, and meaning — often unfolding over years rather than in neat narratives.

This space exists to invite stories from those connected to adoption, including adoptees, adoptive parents, birth/first parents, and others whose lives have been shaped by adoption. There is no expectation to educate, resolve, or inspire. Sharing is entirely voluntary, and participation can take many forms — including simply expressing interest without sharing details.

Stories shared through The Adoptee Perspective may help inform future resources, deepen understanding, or — with clear permission — be included on the site in ways that respect privacy, context, and consent.

You are invited to engage only in ways that feel appropriate to you.

What Sharing Can Look Like

Participation may include:

  • Expressing interest in sharing at a later time

  • Offering a brief reflection or lived experience

  • Sharing insight, questions, or perspective shaped by adoption

  • Contributing anonymously or with limited identification

Nothing shared will be published or used publicly without explicit follow-up and consent.

Important Notes

  • This is not a therapeutic space or crisis support

  • You are not expected to relive or explain painful experiences

  • You may withdraw at any time

  • Sharing does not guarantee publication

Your story remains yours.

Interest Form

This form is intended to understand interest — not to collect full stories.

Sharing is voluntary.

You may withdraw at any time, and participation does not require ongoing involvement.
